About French Broad Flooring

French Broad Flooring is a family-operated, veteran-owned small business rooted in the heart of Western North Carolina. Our founder, Eric, had been working in the flooring industry when Hurricane Helene struck the region. In the storm's aftermath, he suddenly found himself out of work -- but with a family to provide for and a deep desire to serve the community he has called home since birth.

Never one to back down from a challenge Eric made the decision to start his own flooring company, with the full support of his wife and family. Both he and his wife Hannah, felt a deep calling to help the community rebuild, restore, and revitalize homes and businesses.

Working from a makeshift office in his basement, Eric began reaching out to contacts across the flooring industry. Soon, boxes of samples filled the house as he partnered with local contractors and community organizations to begin the hard work of recovery. He started meeting customers in their homes, carefully selecting and loading flooring samples tailored to each family's needs.

Not long after, they secured a commercial space on Tunnel Road -- an old building in need of a little love. By the end of January, the doors of French Broad Flooring officially opened, providing a welcoming space where customers can browse an extensive collection of samples and receive expert guidance.

What began as a mission to assist neighbors in need quickly grew into a full time passion: delivering high-quality flooring solutions with honesty, precision, and pride.
